If the issue you’re having with your mobile device is with the software on the device, I’ll be happy to help. Because of the risk involved with mobile hardware repairs and poor quality replacement parts flooding the market, I’ve decided to stop doing hardware repairs for phones and tablets.
The Coalville Computer Nerd is based at The Springboard Centre on Mantle Lane, Coalville LE67 3DW. Click here to see a map.
I’m often away visiting customers on site and not always available at the office.
I offer a free collection and delivery service for repairs around the Coalville area, if required. If you would prefer to deliver your repair to me instead of using the free collection and delivery service please get in touch first and we can arrange a time for you to pop over when I’m available to avoid you having a wasted journey.
I take your privacy and data security extremely seriously. Data management is one of my primary tasks and without diligent professionalism and transparency I would be out of business very quickly. The Privacy Policy page has details on how your data is handled but if you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Terms and conditions can be found on the Terms and Conditions page. If you don’t find clarity in the terms and conditions on a specific subject or feel it’s missing something important, please let me know and I’ll be more than happy to assist.
For callouts, my fee is £60 for the first hour and then £20 for any subsequent hour. If it goes a little over the hour or something happens during the callout where it feels the extra fees are unfair I’m generally quite relaxed about the price, but this is at my discretion. Most on-site visits last an hour and I’ll advise you if I anticipate it to take longer.
If during a callout it becomes apparent that your equipment will have to be taken off-site to continue the repair, the fees are then calculated on an off-site repair basis.
Sometimes during collection of your equipment I will have to inspect the symptoms of the issue you’re having on-site before taking it away. If this is the case, there is no hourly-charge for the time I spend inspecting the repair and it will fall under the free collection and delivery service.
For off-site repairs, I offer free collection and delivery from within the Coalville area for people with limited mobility, unable to drive etc.
Software repairs are a flat fee of £60 except for certain types of software repair which you’ll be advised on if applicable. If the repair involves hardware the labour fee will usually be £60 plus the cost of any additional hardware required which will be discussed with you before work continues.
If you chose not to go ahead with a repair after diagnostics have been completed and a repair is possible, there is a diagnostic fee of £20. If you choose to cancel your repair after repair work has already been started, the full repair fee will be applicable.
Fantastic! I always look forward to more challenging repairs and a lot of the time when people come to me with jobs like this, the solution is actually not as complex as you think. Please send a message and we can discuss your requirements further.
Yes! If you require a new custom built PC, let me know!
When it comes to new pre-assembled systems and laptops I can’t normally compete on price with the big retailers. If you do buy a brand new system from a big retailer though, no worries! I can help get you set up with it afterwards if you get stuck.
Luckily I have an excellent trade supplier for grade A condition manufacturer refurbished systems that all come with at least a 1 year warranty. If this interests you, let me know what you need and I’ll put some quotes together for your consideration.
We have public liability insurance up to £1,000,000 which can be confirmed through our Certificate of Insurance.
I might be, it depends on the candidate. If you’re interested in joining me to become the best team of nerds in town, please send a message! However, please understand that this is a very difficult job to do to the standard I work at and expect. The variety of different jobs is larger than a lot of other IT roles too so it’s not a job for the easily beaten, but if you think you’ve got what it takes I’d love to hear from you!
