From day to day, you’ll normally find me taking care of the following types of work. There’s sometimes niche computer jobs thrown into the mix that don’t fit into these categories, but generally this is what I’m up to:

Software Cleanups

After a thorough cleanup your system will be running as good as can be again. Software cleanups also include a complimentary hard drive diagnostic and if needed, a cooling systems clean too, because prevention is just as important as the cure

On-Site Visits

Callouts are available at a time and place to suit you, including on evenings and weekends. You’re only a quick message away from having a nerd arrive at your doorstep to solve your IT dilemmas. I also offer a free and convenient collection and delivery service in and around Coalville for repairs that can’t be done on-site

Data Recovery

If your system has gone down and lost all your important files with no backups to hand, you’ve come to the right place! Data recovery is one of the services I’m most proud of, and there’s always the no fix no fee promise, of course! I’m not the kind to kick a person when they’re down; in any rare cases where I can’t retrieve any data, there’s absolutely no charge

Hardware Repair

The toolbox is always on standby to keep your hardware running smoothly and to cure any hardware issues you’re facing. I offer the quickest turnaround possible to get you back up and running again and with no nasty surprise fees. I maintain excellent communication throughout the repair to be sure you’re kept in the loop every step of the way

New System Builds

If you have any specific requirements for your next computer, system builds by The Coalville Computer Nerd are very affordable and expertly crafted using quality parts and not a shortcut in sight. If you’re not very tech-savvy but know what tasks you need the computer to do that’s not a problem at all, I will work with you to determine the best build possible without breaking the bank

E-mail and Networking Support

With the internet being such an important communication tool, having a reliable solution in place to use it is paramount. Emails and networks can often be very complex to get right and being sure that you have a secure and well designed solution isn’t easy. Drawing from my years of experience, I can be sure to deliver excellent and fast responses to your networking woes

Digitisation Services

With digital copies of your photographs and videotapes, you can keep them safely backed up and safe for future generations to enjoy and before the originals deteriorate too far or get lost or damaged. All of the digitised products are available on DVDs with printed labels or USB flash memory. There is no copy protection with out digitisation services, your precious memories are yours to cherish and share however you see fit

Secure Data Erasure

It’s better to be safe than sorry when your private data is concerned. Always be sure that the data on your device has been securely erased prior to a change of ownership or disposal. It’s important that your data is removed in a way that there’s absolutely no chance of recovery, because you never know what could happen if your data falls into the wrong hands and simply deleting files or formatting a drive isn’t enough

Upgrades

Upgrades are a great way to take your PC or laptop to the next level without having to replace the entire unit which can sometimes be very expensive. If you’re not sure what’s right for your particular system to give it that extra kick, let me know and we can discuss your options to be sure the extra power is going exactly where you need it most

Data Transfer

If you’re moving to a new system and want your old files moving over, it’s not always an easy task. A data transfer is even possible from non-booting systems in almost all cases. As a part of the data transfer service I can install the latest operating system updates on your new system while it’s in my care so you can be up and running even faster when you get it back

Tuition Services

Computers are complex and can be difficult to understand. If you’re struggling to grasp a certain task I offer a relaxed and helpful one-to-one tuition service at your home or office to help you along. Put the kettle on and together we can work through what you want to learn for as long as you need, taking notes along the way as everything that was once frustrating for you becomes second nature
